Program Summary
The Health Sector Management (HSM) Certificate offers an education in the interaction and interdependencies of health-related industries and organizations. Offered across all of Fuqua’s MBA programs, as well as to Fuqua MBA alumni, students earn the HSM certificate through a combination of required coursework, industry context electives, and breadth electives.
The HSM curriculum offers a comprehensive approach to studying the entire health care ecosystem, incorporating a range of programming to complement the general MBA curriculum and experience. Students will gain insights across many subsectors of the healthcare industry including pharmaceutical, medical device, biotechnology, health systems, and more. Students will be prepared to work in any area of the health care landscape, in any role. The HSM Certificate allows for specialization within the Duke MBA, providing in-depth training specific to the business of health care. Seventeen course credits of study are required for successful completion of the HSM certificate.

The Daytime MBA Program requires four electives to complete the HSM Certificate and the EMBA Program requires three electives. Sample courses include the following:
